When the pressure rose again, ripples broke the mirrored slabs into rounded blobs that drifted together like wax inside a lava lamp, yet her new lines held firm. Seen from the clock-tower sightline, the fountain circle looked no wider than a silver bracelet lost on the plaza floor. Willa pressed her fingertip against a cold coin beside the freshly ruled diagonal.
