Inside, the air cooled instantly, and her weight rolled forward onto the balls of her feet as she adjusted to the faint flex of the floor. Dozens of Estelles tilted in every direction, multiplied by silver panels that reached the ceiling. A careless visitor had dotted many panes with pale fingerprints; at a glance they looked like drifting pollen. Bright embroidery of tiny green cacti circled Estelle’s sock cuffs, flashing and vanishing with every turn of her ankle while she tested the first corridor with a cautious hip-shift.

She aimed for a distant gold spotlight, imagining it might hover above the exit, yet every two steps a glass wall arrested her progress and nudged her balance sideways. “Is that corridor real?” she asked her nearest reflection; the copy offered no answer beyond her own raised eyebrow. A metal frame presented a snag that caught her sleeve, making her elbow jolt backward before she could regain center. The limitation of sight alone became obvious, so she began to lead with her palm, sliding it forward until the rubber gasket emitted its soft squeak. Footprints from earlier guests crisscrossed the floor tiles, though she paid them little attention, certain each pair belonged to the same circling confusion she now joined.

Midway through a junction, a round floor button yielded under her heel and rotated the overhead gel to rose, then amber. The sudden shift scattered color like shards, and Estelle froze, knees bent, trying to wrangle the kaleidoscope of her own images into a single trustworthy guide. In the warmer light, those pale fingerprints sharpened; they were not random after all but formed a broken ribbon along one face of every true passage. She straightened slowly, shoulders aligning above her hips, and traced the ghostly trail with a sideways lean, testing each panel before committing weight.

The smudge-path steered her toward a widening glow where real daylight pressed faintly through clear glass. She left her own damp handprint beside the last curve, then backed a half step to see it from several angles, checking whether the mark landed where the next explorer could notice. Moisture already began to slip toward transparency, its future decided by the maze’s cool breeze more than by her intention. She watched it thinning, unsure how long the trace would last once the rotating lamps returned to blue.

那條指印小徑把她引向漸亮的光斑，真實日光透過透明玻璃微微壓進來。她在最後一轉處留下自家濕掌印，退半步從多個角度查看，確定痕跡落在後來探險者能看到的位置。潮氣開始消散，能否維持取決於迷宮的涼風，而非她的意圖。她看著水痕慢慢變淡，不知道當旋轉燈光回到藍色時，那記號還會不會存在。
