English 原文
A streak of blue light crawls across Ines’s wrist, fading toward silver before settling into pink; the temperature of the mirrored corridor cools as the spotlight above her turns. Two wristbands cling together inside her pocket, rubbing whenever she lifts her arm, and the extra one keeps a gentle, unnecessary weight against her thigh. She presses her palm to the nearest panel, testing for solidity; the glass answers with smooth resistance and a faint squeak. Her reflection multiplies and then thins, leaving empty gaps where another figure could have stood.
She walks, then chooses to slow down, letting shoe soles glide instead of tap. The lattice of passages encourages her to cut back her stride, so the echo of each step may reveal depth instead of distance. Colored shafts swivel along the floor, and whenever gold replaces blue she grips an aluminium frame, tracing the brushed grain until fingerprints bloom. At one junction a boy’s laugh drifts across the maze, loops through unseen angles, and disappears; it sounds heartfelt, yet it belongs to no one she can find. Twin beams glide past her shoulder, and for a moment she loiters, watching the reflections hesitate in the panels as if waiting for someone who never arrives.
A sudden rasp of metal breaks the hush: a maintenance drill whirs somewhere behind the mirrors, vibrating the floor under her toes. The noise sends ripples through the reflections—edges tremble, copies shimmer, and the empty spaces between them widen. She presses the color-change button under her boot; pink jumps to gold, and the corridors tilt in tone. Through that warmth, she notices one pane lacking fingerprints, its surface too pristine beside the smudged others. She lifts her hand but pauses, uncertainty tightening her knuckles; the glass could be clear, could be mirror. Breathing slows, and her fingertips hover until a thread of coolness climbs into her skin, confirming contact. The pane is solid, yet behind it stretches only more absence.
Footsteps and music from the fairground thicken ahead, promising the exit. She repeats the earlier gesture, placing her palm on a final panel, though this time the contact lasts a heartbeat longer and the pressure eases sooner. The glass remains cool, her print blooms softly, and the untouched wristband shifts once inside her pocket before settling again against her leg.
