The room was a music room with cool tiles. Cool air lay across the floor.

It pushed with its head at the tight gap. The strip bent a little, then sprang back flat. The way stayed shut for the small body.

It tapped the strip with one paw and paused. A soft thwap came from the bend and curl. The edge curved and returned fast against fur.

The kitten slid one paw under the plastic. Fur pressed flat, and claws found a low lift. The strip bowed more, and the head slid through. Shoulders squeezed in after a slow breath.

The moving strips swung inward and hit a low shelf. One light strip smacked a tin can near the edge. The can tipped, fell, and struck the small bell.

The can rolled across the tiles under a black piano. A brass pedal stuck out close to the floor. On top, a menagerie of wooden animals stood still.

Greta stood by a chair and watched the kitten. She said, "It is only plastic." The bell rang again as the can wobbled.
