Orange Marble and the Cardboard Rudder Tab -

English 原文
Quinn built a tall start and a long path on the low table. Nora sat beside the table with a glass bowl for the big beads. A wide cork panel under the run kept the feet level on the rug. Dents marked some old curves, and pale scratch lines showed where beads had knocked. To conserve the tallest supports, Quinn spaced them out and used gentle slopes between turns. Quinn set an orange bead at the start gate and let two fingers go. It clicked along the joins and landed with one soft thonk in the wooden tray.
Quinn lifted a short bend and made a small correction to its angle. Nora passed a thin foam pad, and Quinn slid it under a shaky foot. Warm lamplight touched the smooth wood, and a clean soap smell floated above the table. A cardboard tab from the piece box stuck out beside a turn like a tiny rudder. The orange bead waited in Quinn's palm, cool and heavy for its small size.
Quinn released it again at the top, and the bead picked up speed downhill. Clicks rang from each joint, then a sharp ping came when it met the cardboard tab. The tab turned the bead into a side channel, and it skipped past the next slope. Quinn pinched the tab flatter and pressed the curve back by a finger's width. Nora stayed close and steadied the base with two fingers while Quinn breathed out. The orange bead ran the long route this time and rocked once in the tray. The tray gave one hollow note, and the bead tapped the rim.
