English 원문
Milo’s living room carried morning gloom because thick rainclouds pressed against the windows. He had spent weeks planning a small change that might brighten the space before friends visited. A square canvas, framed with sustainable bamboo, waited on the floor beside a silent toolbox. The rest of the apartment remained deliberately minimalistic, so the new color would draw every wandering eye. He raised his sleeves, rubbed cold palms together, and searched for a reliable way to lift the painting. He checked the clock; noon marked his personal deadline.
The first attempt relied on picture tape that promised to hold ten kilograms. Milo pressed the adhesive firmly, yet the canvas slid down and tapped the floor. He wiped a speck of paint from his trousers while the gloom inside the hallway deepened. Next, he located a hammer, though its wooden grip had been cracked during an earlier project. When he swung, the handle twisted, the nail entered at an angle, and the frame tilted like a crooked smile. A sudden gust from the open window rattled the bamboo frame and shook it free. If he had brought a screwdriver immediately, he could have avoided the second fall. Instead, new holes patterned the plaster like scattered rice.
Determined, Milo changed tactics and tightened a small brass screw directly into the central stud. The stud had been located earlier with a magnet, yet he had ignored it during the rushed attempts. This time the canvas rose slowly; both hands steered it onto the hidden bracket. Air hissed through a thin crack now exposed beside the bracket. Milo paused as the whistle climbed in pitch and echoed along the hallway. When the frame slid fully against the wall, the sound died and the apartment finally fell silent. Clouds outside shifted; afternoon light crossed the hallway, and the colors inside the painting glimmered. The painted frame rested steady against the wall.
