Automatic sensors corrected the error behind him. Panels whirred; the walkway reversed, its gears clicking until the backdrop sealed again. Milo traced the pool once, fingers skimming the surface where slim fish darted. The hidden garden ran on its own timetable: sprinklers whispered, vents exhaled, and the steady motor outside resumed its desert chorus. He pocketed the pencil; sketches could wait. Returning to the maintenance door, he stepped back onto the track just as artificial dusk draped the savannah scene beyond. Soft artificial rain settled over the quiet grasses inside the glass case.
