Liam kneels on the carpet. A few toys lie around. He looks for his small car. A low exciting rattle starts outside. The sound shakes the window glass. Liam turns toward his desk. He taps the drawer side. Wood shakes and dust drifts. The stuck rail shifts a little. He slides the drawer open. Bright marbles sparkle inside suddenly. One marble rolls over the edge. It lands, then spins quickly. Liam drops the rock fast. The marble bumps his shoe. It shoots toward the hallway. A cat pads from the door. The cat bats the marble. Marble skids beneath a chair. The marble rests under the chair.
