Sunlight slipped through cracked glass as Milo stepped into the old school greenhouse. He had joined the annual seed hunt today. He hoped to uncover the small treasure hidden among hanging ferns. His fellow searcher, Sam, balanced a flashlight whose battery has already weakened during earlier rounds. Shelves crowded with soil bags narrowed their path. A sudden mist rose as the automatic sprayer clicked on. Leaves stuck to their shoes, slowing each step. Near the centre table, a faded model destroyer, once part of a science display, rested beside broken pots. Milo lifted it to check beneath, yet only damp earth met his fingertips. Time ticked; other teams have reached the final bell outside.

While Milo shook soil from his hands, Sam leaned on a cracked shelf. The wood groaned, then a clay pot slid and shattered on the floor. Inside the scattered pieces lay a tiny brass key that has been coated with dust. The afternoon adventure suddenly twisted at that quiet moment. A painting of an explorer had rested on that wall for years. Milo angled the flashlight toward a locked cabinet that stands beside a pile of plastic buckets. Water dripping from the sprayer blurred his view, yet he guided the key into the rusty lock. The door opened, revealing a packet of bright seeds wrapped in silver foil. Sunlight already leaned low beyond the glass, yet the bell outside kept ringing. Outside, cheers rolled across the yard; inside, two smiles widened beside the open cabinet.
