The Tipping Bucket- 適合初級的英語短篇故事

Liam finished art class in the small village school. He wanted to clean the floor before going outside today. A bright autumn sun shone through the tall windows. He fetched a mop and a bucket. Water sloshed quietly while he moved across the tiles slowly. Suddenly, a cool mountain breeze pushed the open window wider still. The window hit the bucket and knocked it sideways hard. Soapy water raced toward a stack of paper drawings. Liam darted forward but slipped on the wet path. His foot hit a chair, and the chair tipped over.

The falling chair landed against the classroom supply shelf. Boxes of crayons slid down and blocked the door behind him. He could not reach the outside sink now. He grabbed an unused art sheet and scooped the water. The sheet soaked quickly, stopping the stream near the drawings. Next, he lifted the chair and pressed it against puddles. The weight forced water back toward the bucket opening. Soon the floor looked clean again, only damp. He set the mop upright and opened the blocked door gently. Cool air entered, and paper drawings stayed bright. He quietly closed the window tight.
