English 원문
Sunlight rippled over the Saturday craft market beside the slow river. Wooden stalls formed a loose crescent, and footsteps rattled the planks of a temporary footbridge. Mira edged toward the final skein of crimson yarn gleaming on a corner table; its color matched the faint dye on her fingertips. Leo, pausing nearby with a small camera, angled his body to leverage the rail for a steady shot of gulls sweeping low over the water. His elbow brushed a wicker basket. A lapse in balance followed: the basket toppled, the crimson yarn bounced once, then rolled between their shoes before unspooling across the boards.
The loose thread curled around Leo’s boot and tightened. He bent to free it, but each tug pulled Mira’s tote closer, knotting both travelers to the same runaway line. Mira knelt as well, sleeves grazing the wood. A felt beret, dropped by an earlier shopper and forgotten beneath the table, slid into view when the yarn looped through its band like a bright ribbon. Mira lifted the hat, dusted the rim, and placed it on the rail where anyone walking back might notice. “It belongs somewhere visible,” she said, voice even, palm resting on the fabric. Leo nodded, adjusting his lens cap; no order passed between them, only the clack of plastic against metal.
Fondness hovered in the still air—not declared, simply present—as both visitors worked side by side. Leo steadied the tangled thread while Mira rewound it, wrist turning with practiced speed. Each twist shortened the line and cleared the walkway for strollers easing past. When the skein regained its tight shape, she set it on the table again; the vendor, busy measuring ribbon, raised an eyebrow at the unexpected teamwork but let the scene flow without comment. Leo clicked the camera, capturing the yarn’s restored spiral and the beret resting above like an accidental emblem. A faint breeze stirred the river’s surface, mirroring the fresh order along the stalls.
The tide of visitors pressed on, boots and sandals pacing in alternating rhythms, while the repaired skein rested beside polished scissors and spool holders.
