The Rainbow on the Hilltop- 適合初級的英語短篇故事

Soft morning light filled the quiet hilltop.

Iris carried a sketchbook and bright pencils. She hoped to draw the elegant stone bridge below. The wooden steps rose toward the best viewpoint. A peaceful view spread over fields and water.

Iris placed the book on the wide railing. A sudden breeze sent one gorgeous blue pencil spinning. The pencil rolled, slipped through a gap, and dropped. It bounced on a pebble, slid, and splashed into a stream. Water spots jumped up and covered her fresh page. Iris picked a twig and reached for the pencil. The twig lifted the pencil and also a small marble. Sunlight passed through the marble; a delightful rainbow touched the page. Iris smiled, then drew the rainbow across the elegant bridge. She placed the marble beside her finished drawing.
