Morning light filled the small yard.

Niko spread thick paper on a low garden bench. He wanted to sketch the herbs behind the shed. A tidy box of bright stationery rested beside his elbow. He opened it and picked a sharp green pencil. That action began his plan for the quiet morning. A sudden gust lifted the empty box lid upward. The lid tapped his water cup and tipped it over. Water ran across the bench, sliding the paper toward grass.

Niko jumped, but the paper slid beyond his reach. It landed among dense vegetation near the garden path. The wet corner stuck against a tall tomato stem. He stepped closer and felt mud grip his shoes. While rescuing the sheet, he noticed leaf marks on it. A fresh idea came to him. He checked the pencil, and water spoiled its function for smooth lines. He picked a flat leaf and pressed it on the wet surface. Leaf veins printed clear patterns, matching his new forest plan. The paper dried slowly beside the box.
