Morning light filled the narrow lane.

Milo entered the small weekend market near the bridge. He wanted to bring one special gift home today. Wooden tables offered many bright items for curious hands. Milo stood on tiptoe for a better view. A clay whistle waited near the far corner. Fragrant bread steam drifted between stalls and mixed with soft spice.

He reached forward, but his elbow touched a basket handle. The basket tipped and released glass marbles onto the board. Bright marbles rolled quickly, striking a tin cup beside them. The cup jumped, hit the hard table leg, and rang loud. Its motion sent the clay whistle sliding through a gap. A folded cloth dropped next, covering three rolling beads.

Milo dropped to his knees under the table at once. Cool dust brushed his fingers while he searched the ground. Shiny marbles stopped between old leaves and dry seeds. Light from a side lamp showed the lost whistle nearby. Next to it, a tiny brass bell reflected the lamp. Thin spider webs trembled when his sleeve touched the rough plank.

He saved the whistle and also took the small bell. Water drops rested on the bell and made tiny circles. Coins clicked as he paid for both quiet treasures. Evening clouds gathered above and darkened the flowing river. He left the market and listened to the bell ring. Each clear note echoed around his steps across the stone arch. Milo crossed the bridge and carried his finds home.

晨光灑滿狹窄的小巷。

米洛走進橋邊的小型週末市集。他今天想帶一份特別的禮物回家。木桌上擺滿許多亮麗的小物，吸引好奇的雙手。米洛踮起腳尖，為了看得更清楚。一個陶笛靜靜地放在最遠的角落。麵包的香氣蒸氣在攤位間飄動，混著淡淡香料味。

他向前伸手，但手肘碰到籃子的把手。籃子翻倒，玻璃彈珠滾到木板上。亮晶晶的彈珠快速前進，撞到一旁的錫杯。杯子彈起，撞到硬木桌腳，發出清脆聲。杯子的動作又讓陶笛滑過縫隙掉下。布塊隨後落下，蓋住三顆轉動的珠子。

米洛立刻跪到桌下。涼涼的灰塵掠過他的指尖，他搜尋地面。閃亮的彈珠停在枯葉和乾種子之間。側邊燈光照出掉落的陶笛。就在旁邊，一只迷你黃銅鈴反射燈光。細細的蜘蛛網在他袖子碰到粗木板時輕顫。

他撿起陶笛，也拿走那只小鈴。水珠停在鈴面上，畫出微小圓圈。硬幣碰撞聲響起，他付錢買下這兩件安靜的寶物。黃昏雲層在上方聚集，使河面變暗。他離開市集，聽著鈴聲回響。每個清亮的聲音在石拱橋間迴盪，跟隨他的腳步。米洛走過橋，帶著戰利品回家。
