Morning light fell across the small kitchen wall.

Milo planned a garden lunch for his friend Tess. He wanted to carry a bright dish outside. First, he turned the faucet for a quick rinse. A thin stream stayed and drops fell on the tiles. Milo did not notice the growing puddle near his shoes. He started to arrange plates, forks, and a cloth basket. The main dish came from fresh summer cuisine he studied yesterday. One serving of pasta rested in a wide blue bowl. He lifted the bowl and stepped toward the door.

His heel met the water, and the bowl tilted forward. Sauce slid, and the bowl left his hands for an instant. At that moment, the cloth basket dropped from the counter. The soft weave caught the flying bowl like a net. Pasta shook but stayed inside the dish without a spill. The basket bounced once and landed upright on the floor. Milo blinked; the kitchen stayed quiet after the quick chain. Water still shone on the tile, yet nothing broke today. He wiped the puddle and carried the basket outside carefully. Light touched the garden table as he set the bowl down.
