When the Windmill Began to Spin- 適合初級的英語短篇故事

Warm sunlight fell across the garden path.

Tim carried a miniature windmill toward the flower bed today. He held it near a spot beside the red tulips. The small blades could spin under gentle garden wind. A flat stone blocked his next step. He stepped around it but kicked the watering can. Water rushed out and soaked the loose soil. The sudden splash shook the nearby leaves. A sleepy bee flew up from the damp petals. Its wings made a quick flutter beside Tim’s ear.

The bee did not sting; instead it landed on the toy. Its light weight pushed one blade, and the whole wheel turned. Tim blinked and stepped back as the windmill spun without wind. The turning blades threw tiny drops from the wet wood. A rainbow spark flashed under the sun for one second. Tim set the windmill softly into the soaked earth. The bee lifted away and disappeared beyond the tall grass. Water seeped deeper, and the spinning slowed until hinges creaked once. A loud crow called from the fence, and garden sounds continued.
