When the Blanket Jumped- 適合初級的英語短篇故事

A finch landed on an elastic washing line. It pecked at a loose thread on a blanket. The bright cloth sagged under its small weight. Cool morning air touched every leaf. The bird pulled again, stretching the cord like rubber. The blanket carried a comforting sun smell from long drying. The thread refused to break and stored tight energy.

The finch let go, wings beating hard. The line sprang upward and tossed the blanket high. The blanket corner hit a soft pillow beside it. The pillow bounced, pushing a small wicker basket forward. A rubber band inside stretched then shot from the rim. The band struck a round mushroom near the grass edge. The mushroom bent, sprang back, and flicked an acorn away. A wooden fence stopped the acorn; momentum changed direction. It rolled along the plank toward a pile of dry leaves.
