English 원문
Moist grain from the wooden topping shelf pressed against Frida’s fingertips; a sticky ring glimmered there, thin and cool, like a damp trace left by an earlier drip.
Pendant lamps threw a bright band across the narrow shelf while deeper shadow collected beneath the tubs behind the glass. Frida balanced her single-scoop cone beside the trace and reached for the sprinkle shaker. Kit arrived with a taller cone and paused; the same shelf was the only flat spot near enough to work before the ice cream glossed. The shaker, the sauce bottle, and one paper napkin were already crowding the ledge, so each centimetre mattered. A soft tremor passed through Kit’s wrist as his lean cone began to tilt. He angled it back upright, using intuition more than sight, and blew a short breath that chased glare from the rim of his glasses. Frida noticed the wobble and slid her cone half a span to the left, hoping to conserve the little firmness still inside the scoop.
Overhead cooling paused, and glare from the lamps strengthened, warming the air. The sauce bottle had been resting under that glow all afternoon; its contents flowed faster than usual. Kit tipped the nozzle, and a bumpy ribbon shot out, overshooting the dome and deepening the sticky ring’s colour. Both cones now leaned toward the puddle. Frida tapped the shelf; Kit caught the signal and lifted his cone for an instant. She flattened the wrinkle in the napkin, folded it twice, and wedged the pad under the sauce to soak excess shine. Space opened just enough for them to work side by side. Light struck the sprinkle shaker, flashing along its rim. Frida tilted it; the granules inside were nearly gone. She shook gently once, twice, three times. The final speck jumped free and landed in the centre of both domes as Frida tapped the empty shaker.
