Soft drizzle stripes the outside pane. A small bird lands on the sill. More sheets slide again. Rosa steps to the desk. She steadies the leaning pile. Wet paint dots the top page. Pages cling and refuse to shift. Rosa slides a flat book under them. The pages sit straight. A breeze pushes one red corner upward. The corner flaps like a bird wing. Kellan exhales and nods. Kellan says, "Thanks, Rosa." Rain taps again on glass.
