He turns toward an old boat.

The hull leaves a dark space.

Wet sand blocks the view.

He taps sand with pencil.

A thin path opens slowly.

He crouches and peers low.

The wide ocean lies beyond.

One small shell flashes bright, like a spark.

Far waves roll toward future tides.

Tara walks out of sight.
