Brass Weight Rolling Across the Tea Terrace-

English 원문
Two shallow scoops of withered leaves remained in Arlo's bamboo basket, and each circle on the granite rolling table thinned them further.
The midday air buzzed with insect wings, yet the stone surface stayed cool, letting his palms glide without stickiness.
From that outlook the firing pan shimmered two terraces below, its charcoal glow wavering behind a curtain of hot air.
Below, Glen sat beside the grading sieve, counting leaf grades into clay bowls for the workshop worksheet.
Rolling rhythms articulated a whisper, like sand sliding under water, while he guided the leaves into a neat ring near the rim.
A loose bamboo paddle perched beside the basket slid a finger width, nudging a brass weight that balanced on the table edge.
A sharp clatter rose upstream from the withering shed, trays rattling as wind funnelled through the open siding.
Arlo lifted his hands and hurried uphill, sandals tapping against the stones, to steady the top rack before it tipped.
The trays held firm; leaves rustled but stayed contained, and his shoulders dropped while the gust eased.
"All clear on this rack, the leaves stayed put!" he called toward the path below.
During that brief absence, silent gravity kept working on the brass weight resting on the terrace below.
A distant chime from the firing pan area rose, confirming the tea master had shifted to the next stage below.
Arlo descended again and halted when he noticed the weight rolling along the stone gutter, its brass side glinting at every bounce.
The rolling weight tapped a grading sieve frame; Glen flinched, his elbow bumped three empty tins, and they jolted forward.
The tins clinked downhill and nudged a stack of loose lids; lids leapt free and sent fragments to scatter across the walkway.
A waist-high bamboo rail stopped the final tin with a dull thud, blocking any further tumble.
Arlo gathered the scattered leaves into his palm, brushed stray fragments from the stone, and eased them back onto the rolling surface.
Beside him, the brass weight rocked in tiny arcs against the rail, clicking unevenly through the quiet terrace air.
