English 원문
"Tap the bowl once."
Freya raised a wooden spoon and let it touch the wide metal rim. A bright ring shot out, bounced off the tiled wall, then faded into a low hum. Twilight colors pressed against the window glass, and a cool patch on the floor met Hadley’s bare feet. A tall pepper grinder stood like a quiet leader among shorter shakers, yet tonight the children gave all attention to sound. Hadley filled a glass jar with water, stopped when the surface reached his thumb, and tapped the side. The pitch slid higher than he could guess, and the jar’s thin body trembled with tiny ripples.
They tried again with less water. The note shifted lower, and the spoon’s tip rattled against the rim before the vibration calmed. A drop escaped, made a neat splash on the counter, and rolled toward the sink. Outside, a sharp yell from Oren in the herb patch slipped through the half-open door; the cry echoed inside an upside-down pot and turned into a hollow whistle. Freya flipped the pot, tapped it, and heard a dull thud instead of a ring. Each object answered in its own voice, and the kitchen collected layers of resonance: thin glass shimmer, soft clay muffle, loose lid rattle.
Soon five jars stood in a row, each holding different water levels, their rims catching the fading light. Hadley nudged the last jar into place, lining the surfaces like short steps. Freya laid two spoons across the tops, the handles still quivering with a faint metallic hum.
