Niles kept the improvised paddle moving with even depth, and the surface smoothed into a broad bowl once the block was gone. The duck circled wide and slow, while the cork sat lower and traced the water’s turn more tightly. The leaf drifted aside and vanished under the rim, yet the ping-pong ball still hugged the wall and stalled.
