Marco crouched in front of the kitchen sink again. A steady drip tapped the metal bowl below, and water spots scattered across the tiles. His evening goal was clear: stop the drip before his cousin arrived with board games. The wrench that he needed was missing, and his quest for it had already led through every drawer. He has checked the pantry and shaken old cans. He has even pulled out a toolbox that has been forgotten behind broom handles. Outside, gray clouds pressed against the window. The dull outlook of sudden rain pushed him to move faster. Meanwhile, droplets gathered, forming an honest puddle that spread toward his socks.

He slid a bucket under the pipe and reached deeper. Fingers brushed something smooth and curved. A small plastic dolphin rolled into the light, its blue paint chipped. The toy, lost since last summer, had blocked the wrench behind the pipe. Surprise widened Marco’s eyes. He laughed and tilted the bucket, sending the dolphin skimming across the water surface like a real one. With the toy removed, the wrench tumbled free. He tightened the connector, and the drip fell silent. Rain began outside, but the tiles stayed dry. Marco wiped the floor, set the dolphin on the windowsill, and leaned back as the faucet stayed quiet.

他把水桶推到管子下，手伸得更深。指尖碰到光滑而彎曲的東西。一隻小塑膠海豚滾進燈光中，褪色的藍漆斑駁。這玩具自去年夏天遺失以來，一直卡在管後，擋住扳手。驚喜讓馬可眼睛睜大。他笑著傾斜水桶，海豚在水面上滑行，像真海豚一樣。玩具移開後，扳手掉了出來。他擰緊接頭，滴水聲停止。外頭開始下雨，但瓷磚保持乾爽。馬可擦乾地面，把海豚放在窗台上，後仰時水龍頭依舊安靜。
