The Rolling Branch- 適合初級的英語短篇故事

Morning light filled the small clearing.

A young rabbit sniffed the cool air near the burrow. Mom rested inside, waiting for fresh clover leaves. The rabbit hopped toward a meadow beyond a fallen log. Tall grass brushed its fur while nature rustled around.

A thick branch blocked the narrow path beside the log. The rabbit pushed the branch with quick front paws. The branch rolled, struck a stone, and shook the log. The sudden shake dropped an acorn onto a hidden lever. The lever lifted soft soil, freeing a tiny fawn. The fawn stepped forward and pressed the loose branch flat. A short bridge now crossed the trickling water below. The rabbit skipped over, reached the meadow, and nibbled clover. A wonderful scent of flowers circled the open grass. A single daisy bent under a light breeze beside the clover patch. The rabbit filled its mouth, turned, and hurried back home. Mom touched the fresh gift with her nose. Both rabbits settled while sunlight warmed the burrow entrance.

晨光灑滿小空地。

年幼的兔子在巢穴口嗅著涼爽空氣。媽媽待在裡面，等待新鮮的三葉草。兔子向倒木外的草地跳去。高高的草葉擦過牠的毛，四周的自然沙沙作響。

一根粗樹枝擋住窄路。兔子用前爪推樹枝。樹枝滾動撞到石頭，搖晃了倒木。突然，一顆橡實落在隱藏的杠桿上。杠桿抬起鬆土，釋放出一隻小鹿。小鹿踏上鬆枝，把它壓成短橋。橋橫過下方細水。兔子跳過去，抵達草地，開始啃食三葉草。花香十分美妙。輕風下，一朵雛菊在三葉草旁彎曲。兔子滿嘴青草，轉身趕回巢穴。媽媽用鼻子碰了碰新鮮禮物。兩隻兔子安靜坐著，陽光溫暖洞口。
