When the Poster Got Wet-

Story Content
English Original
Warm light spread over the wooden pier beside the lake. Ben carried a tiny boat made from orange juice cartons. He aimed to send the boat sliding past the reeds. He placed the boat on water and watched it drift forward. A sudden breeze pushed the light craft further than his stick reached. Careful steps took him along the pier, but the distance grew.
Tori arrived, carrying her school bag and a rolled science poster. The poster showed the colorful human nervous system for tonight’s homework. She noticed the drifting boat and joined Ben without any words. Together they marched along the narrow bank toward a bending tree. Tori grabbed a fallen branch; Ben guided it under the boat. The branch lifted, tipping water high with a sharp splash. The wave sprayed across the pier and soaked the poster tube. Paper slid out, unrolling over the planks like a pale map. Ben caught one corner; Tori held the other and shook droplets away. Wind eased, and the small boat now floated within easy reach. Ben lifted it, water shining on the carton walls. Water kept dropping from the paper edge.
Translation
