He opens the box slowly.
A small cloth doll drops.
A gold ring circles its arm.
He slides off the ring.
A thin pen slides out.
The pen stays inside cloth.
He shakes the doll gently.
The pen falls onto carpet.
He places ring in cup.
He sets doll beside box.
The quiet room stood still.
