Freya stands by the gate.

She steps onto a flat stone.
She sees the duck clearly.
Freya walks toward the stone trough.
She passes a wooden nest box.
Grass crackles under her small boots.
She turns and walks back.
At the trough she smells breakfast cake.
A delicious sweet smell drifts.
A soft feather floats nearby.
Near the box, shiny pebbles sit.
They sparkle in thin sunlight.
"That smell is our cake recipe," adult says.
Freya looks at the quiet yard.
Dew beads still shine on posts.
A bird lands on the fence.
