He lifts a forked stick.
He loves to draw in clay.
Mud grips his boot at the edge.
He shifts onto a mossy root.
An egg shell rests by the root.
Leaf shade darkens the pool.
The bug turns toward the log.
"There it goes," Quinn says.
Quinn stops on the root.
The bug slides into the dark gap.
