English 原文
Ruben, a young explorer with a camera swinging against his chest, arrived before sunrise at the abandoned botanical park. Thick vines pressed against rusted railings, and dew gathered on every surface. In the heart of the park, an old glasshouse hid a rare midnight heron that rarely moved during daylight, and Ruben wanted a single clear photograph. The main gate had been chained by city workers years earlier, so he slid between bars where paint had already flaked away. A shoe caught on a metal edge; he stumbled, steadied himself, and felt cold moisture climb his sleeves. Lushness filled the air, each leaf wide enough to shelter a small bird, each fallen seed ready to sprout beside broken tiles.
Inside the garden path, a second obstacle appeared. The gravel, once carefully raked, now formed uneven mounds. Every step sank, sending sharp stones into his boots. If he had remembered thicker socks, the jolts would have softened. He adjusted by walking along a narrow concrete rim that lined the path; even that surface cracked under his weight, and one slab tipped, splashing water from a hidden puddle across his lens. He wiped the glass with the corner of his sleeve, but fog returned as warm breath met the cool surface. A sudden rustle drifted from tree crowns, yet the heron remained unseen.
Ruben finally reached the glasshouse door. Its frame had been swollen by last winter’s rain, and the handle refused to turn. After several failed pulls, he wedged a fallen branch beneath the latch. Pressure spread, hinges squealed, and a gap opened just wide enough. He plunged into the damp interior, careful to stay low among ferns. Shadows shifted above; the heron glided down without warning and perched on his idle tripod, feathered chest brushing the shutter button. Ruben froze, heart thudding, until the bird’s own weight triggered a perfect click. Early light rested on the quiet greenhouse floor.
