Owen carried a backpack along the path. He searched for a quiet pond inside the forest. A clear sky hung over his simple adventure before lunch. He whistled and tapped each step with gentle care. A flat stone suddenly slipped under his boot. His foot lost balance, and he made one loud stomp. The stomp pushed the stone against a nearby log. The log rolled and brushed a bird. The bird fluttered up, shook leaves, and cracked a twig.

Dry leaves covered the trail entrance. Owen paused at the blocked way. He could climb or search further. He chose the side slope and pushed through low bushes. Beyond the bushes, sunlight flashed on a tiny wooden box. Dust rose as the box bumped against a root. He opened the box and found shiny marbles inside. Sunlight bounced off the marbles and lit the ground. Owen placed the box in his backpack and walked onward.
