English 原文
Morning light filled Mia's small kitchen. She planned to bake chocolate chip cookies for her class picnic on the mountain. The bus would stop at her gate in forty minutes. She has measured the butter and cracked two eggs; a mixing bowl waited on the counter. When she reached for sugar, the top cabinet refused to open. The hinge was bent during last spring cleaning. Today the wood gripped like a clamp. Seconds slipped away while the digital clock blinked. Mia tapped her foot and wiped flour from her apron.
She slid a flat spatula between door and frame, hoping the metal would counter the pressure. She has tried twice already, yet the gap stayed narrow. On the third push, an old toy lion that waited on the upper shelf toppled forward. It bounced off the cabinet edge, struck the measuring cup, and released a small avalanche of flour. The cloud whitened Mia’s hair, but the falling cup cracked the jammed hinge. The door swung free, revealing the sugar bag, still sealed and dry. She poured the grains, whisked the dough, and slid neat rows into her reliable toaster oven. Ten minutes later, a sweet smell floated through the hall as the bus brakes squealed outside. Mia closed the tin, grabbed her backpack, and stepped onto the porch while warm cookies rested inside.
