The Daisy Splash- 適合初級的英語短篇故事

Morning light filled the small garden shed.

Milo carried his easel and a fresh white board. He wanted to paint one bright daisy beside the path. A light breeze moved the petals while Milo mixed paint. Bright color dots waited on his small plastic palette. Fresh paper was scarce inside the shed, so he worked carefully. He studied the beauty of each petal before each stroke. Then the breeze tipped his water cup onto the board. Water raced forward, pushed the palette, and knocked a paint jar.

The jar rolled down, hit a stone, and burst open. Blue liquid spread across the floor and reached Milo's shoes. Milo jumped back, but the wet board slipped from his hands. It landed flat on a patch of abundant grass outside. Petals from the daisy pressed into the soaked colors like stamps. When Milo lifted the board, a new pattern covered it. The picture showed the flower in swirling blue and green rings. Milo set the board on a box to dry. Drops fell slowly from the corner. He closed the wooden shed door.

顏料罐滾落，碰到石頭後裂開。藍色液體漫過地面，沾濕米洛的鞋子。米洛急忙後退，但濕滑的畫板還是從他手中滑落。畫板平平摔在外面一片茂盛的草地上。雛菊的花瓣壓進染濕的顏色裡，像印章一樣。米洛把畫板舉起時，一個全新的圖案浮現。畫面出現藍綠色圓環包住那朵花。米洛把畫板放在箱子上晾乾。畫板邊緣的水滴慢慢墜落。他關上了木棚的門。
