English 原文

Bright noon light poured through the wide canopy in Brookfield Park. Leo and Mira arrived with a woven picnic blanket and a small basket, hoping to spread lunch in the moving shade beneath two plane trees. Warm air carried cut-grass smell while distant traffic hummed behind the hedge. They had brought sketchbooks as well, certain the calm park would stay quiet enough for drawing.

The two friends knelt and tried to smooth the blanket, yet competing forces appeared at once. A playful breeze rippled the cloth upward, and a runner began to jog along the narrow path, flicking bits of dust toward them. Leo pressed one corner with his knee, but the rising center acted like a sail. Mira fetched a flat stone; the wind shoved harder, lifting the opposite edge until the blanket ballooned above Leo’s head in an extraordinary puff. Startled, the passing runner brushed the airborne cloth with an elbow and sent it spinning into a nearby shrub. Dry twigs snapped, and several ants scattered from their nest, carrying pale crumbs away.

Mira retrieved the tangled fabric while Leo shook loose leaves from its fringe. The wind still tugged, so they rolled the blanket tighter instead of fighting wider surface. Leo began to anchor it again, yet another sudden gust erased the small patch of shade completely. He paused, released the rolled bundle, and turned toward a puddle that glimmered beside the path. Ripples crossed the clear water as falling seeds tapped its skin. A dragonfly skimmed the bright surface once, then darted away.
