Pia rolled a vibrant blanket across the short grass. Luke followed with a basket full of picnic food. They planned to eat beside the quiet pond. Warm sunlight touched their arms while birds circled overhead. Cool air moved under the nearby trees. Pia unwrapped a round cake topped with red berries. It looked sweet and very yummy.

Sudden wind caught a paper plate and slammed it into the jug. Orange juice burst free and poured across the blanket. The bright liquid ran downhill and formed a fast ribbon. That ribbon slid toward the sweet cake on its stand. Luke dropped to his knees and shoved the stand sideways. The shift raised one edge, sending the juice another way. The stream curved, reached low grass, and soaked the dry soil. Small ants scattered as the sticky wave passed them. Pia laughed and moved the basket to safer ground. Orange juice continued seeping between blades toward the pond.
