English 原文
A sharp clonk bounced off the wicker basket—what had struck the lid so hard? Jonas leaned forward and spotted a bright green squeegee sliding across the chequered cloth, its rubber edge whispering each time it scraped the plastic plate beside it. The small space at the centre had already been claimed by stacked containers, so the tool now hogged the only flat patch where he meant to place his metal tumbler. Each time he nudged it uphill, another gust rattled the basket lid, and the squeegee glided downhill with a squeal, bumping the tumbler and tipping it onto its rim. A napkin fluttered past with a papery rustle, and the thermos gave a hollow boom against a container. Jonas gripped the handle and tugged, yet the tacky rubber clung to the warm cloth and refused to stay put.
Another blast whistled across the slope; the uphill stone rattled free, and the wind-side edge of the blanket snapped like a tiny sail. Plates clacked, and a thin streak of lemonade splashed over the red squares as the tumbler rolled again. Dawn’s knees tapped Jonas while she caught the runaway cup, the two of them nearly sending the basket lid thumping shut. Their napkins rustled over the grass border, but Jonas noticed how the squeegee’s broad blade had stuck to the cloth a moment earlier. The same flat rubber that made it slide also gripped fabric when pressed. He flipped the tool, planted its edge along the flapping border, and leaned his palm on the handle. The blade hugged the cloth; the whipping ceased; even the loose cutlery fell quiet with a soft clink.
With the blanket finally anchored, Jonas steadied the tumbler; a faint ring sounded when he set it upright beside the thermos. Dawn shook the container once—slosh-slosh—then tilted it so lemony liquid drummed inside. Grass brushed their ankles, carrying a distant hiss like tiny waves on sandy shores. For the first moment since unpacking, the basket interior stayed silent; only a low murmur from moving leaves drifted overhead. Both friends let their legs kick back so their heels tapped the grass, and the lemonade slid in a slow arc toward the rim as Jonas was reaching for the thermos.
