Jar Freed from Crates-

English 原文
A copper scoop already scraped the cinnamon jar, releasing a cloud of molasses-sweet dust, when Kira squeezed into the spice stall. Nutmeg, dried lime, and a vinegar-sharp pickle sample mixed on her tongue as if the air were soup. She aimed to fill one small cloth pouch with a dessert blend before the jar emptied. The stranger’s steady rhythm slowed the queue, and a mild dispute over tomato prices crackled two stalls away, their peppery words drifting with chili fumes. Sticky grains of cardamom drifted onto her sleeves—a powdery distraction that formed pale stripes on dark cloth. The lone scoop finally hung free, but its bowl now glowed red from paprika. Kira rolled a spare paper cone into a funnel, hoping the thin wall might protect the sweeter spice. She tipped the jar; thick, aromatic dust slid down, yet the paper softened and sagged, spilling half the cargo back onto the table.
Fresh stock ran low, and the vendor stepped toward a back crate just as a delivery cart rattled through the lane. Canvas roofs pulled inward; their damp ropes drew tight with visible tension, sliding the cinnamon jar behind stacked pepper boxes. Retrieving it turned into a tiny rescue mission for its lingering aroma. Kira spotted a bamboo measuring stick resting near the bubble-wrap station at the pottery stall. She threaded the wand between crates, hooked the jar’s wire handle, and edged it forward centimetre by centimetre. The integration of clove, sugar, and ground orange released by each jolt tasted like warm cake batter on the breeze. A sharp crash of clay bowls offered fresh distraction to nearby shoppers, yet Kira kept her wrists steady. When the vendor returned, he weighed the remaining spice with a brass balance, and the final pouch closed under a neat knot of twine.
Hours later, after most voices faded from the bazaar, the spice stall’s lamps burned low. Only a crescent of cinnamon dust rimmed the empty jar, and thin trails of nutmeg powder lay across the counter where the air had grown cool. A faint sugary scent lingered above the closed lids.
