He traced the slack toward the crates, noticed a fresh scrape on their gritty side, and slipped along the narrow gap. Damp air hugged the fence, but a rectangle of grass stayed oddly dry beneath a low shelf; Dawn’s sleeve brushed that patch, wiping away fine dew and revealing the clue Sam sought.
