A small paper ball bumps her arm.

A breeze lifts a crayon wrapper.
It lands on Greta’s hair.
The wrapper feels light and tickly.
Glue dries on her paper, showing unity.
Next, a plastic cup taps her shoe.
It rolls back to the jar.
The teacher waves a friendly hello.
“Good morning, Greta,” she says.
Greta blinks but stays still.
The paper ball now rests quiet.
Outside, the rain taps more softly.
