Hollis sits on the cushion.
Frida presses a sticker again.
Grey light fills the corner.
Hollis lifts the dry cloth.
Dust rises and he sneezes.
A tiny brown leaf rests.
He folds the cloth back.
A small wooden box sits nearby.
Hollis lifts its loose lid.
Inside he sees three pebbles.
One pebble hides a silver fleck.
He sets lid on again.
Hollis slides fingers under cushion edge.
Fabric grips and resists his pull.
He pushes harder with both hands.
Cushion lifts; stray pencil rolls out.
Frida says, "Look, a pencil."
Frida watches with nervous eyes.
The pencil bumps the water glass.
Water line wobbles but stays inside.
Under cushion lies a thin sticker scrap.
A line of dust sticks there.
He slides cushion back in place.
Outside, raindrops grow into clear beads.
One bead joins a wider stream.
The cushion lies flat and silent.
