A fine speck lands on her eyelash.
It tickles.
Esme blinks.
The mark comes clear again.
Something soft brushes her ankle.
A blanket end slides on the floor.
A small car rolls from under the shelf.
It taps Esme's shoe.
She stays very still.
Beside her knee, the damp patch lightens.
