The ceiling hook stood higher than his stretched arm could reach.
He moved a narrow stool across the wooden floor.
Light from the window drew pale lines across the mats.
The stool wobbled, so he placed some books beneath one leg.
When Leo climbed up, the books slid and clapped together.
The clap shook a shelf; a dusty eraser bumped the globe.
Chalk dust drifted through the air in soft flakes.
He stepped down with caution and studied the shaky stool.
He remembered a wide box stored under the reading bench.
He slid the box into space between stool and wall.
The box pressed snugly, and the stool stood firm now.
Leo climbed again and hooked the planet without trouble.
A gentle draft moved the hanging planet in a small circle.
Fine dust settled on the floorboards.
