Ben carried his small camera into the back garden.

He moved quickly, eyes wide and grin broad under sunlight.

A quiet pond lay near the tall reeds and stones.

He wanted a clear photo of the green frog inside.

His sister followed, holding a long stick for balance.

The ground near the water looked dry yet felt loose under shoes.

Ben knelt and fixed the focus on the still surface.

A sudden splash broke the flat water; both children jumped back.

Ben jerked backward; his boot pressed a loose stone near the edge.

The stone rolled, hit a smaller rock, and slid into the pond.

Ripples spread, the frog disappeared, and muddy water covered the lens.

Ben wiped the glass, but smudges stayed and picture looked blurry.

His sister offered the stick, tapping it against the nearest lily pad.

The pad shifted, and a new frog climbed onto the stick.

Ben lifted the camera again, steadied his breath, and pressed the button.

The picture showed clear legs, bright eyes, and shining drops.

Calm water returned, and both children stepped back onto the grass.

They walked slowly toward the house.
