English 원문
The city playground held something unusual that afternoon. A high hedge maze, built from trimmed boxwood, spread beside the swings. Maya had visited the place many times, yet the leafy corridors offered a new experience. Warm sunlight floated above the green walls all around. The distant creak of a see-saw mixed with the scent of fresh grass. A scrap of paper showing the layout lay folded in her pocket. Parts of it had been smudged by earlier fingers. Near the entrance, a brown dog with a blue collar stretched, shook off dust, and padded behind her. No owner stood nearby, so the animal simply tagged along, nose close to the ground.
Maya stepped inside the hedge path and turned left. She aimed to discover the central fountain she had glimpsed through the entrance gate. Almost at once, wind slid along the narrow path and flipped the paper from her hand. The sheet skittered away, trapped briefly against a hedge before sailing above. While she chased the page, the dog trotted ahead, weaving around corners. A shrill bark echoed, and a hidden gap appeared where two hedges failed to meet. The animal slipped through the narrow opening with a light hop. Maya paused for one breath, then copied the move. On the other side, rows opened into a small square. The place looked like its own bright world, fountain included. Water splashed over smooth stones as the dog sat, tail sweeping the dust. Maya laughed, pockets empty, and touched the cool spray.
