Between two fixed boulders, water rushed through a gap as wide as Luna’s arm; blocking it became her afternoon experiment. She had already nudged three palm-sized stones into the throat of the gap. Each landed with a thud, slowed the flow for a breath, then slid as the current pressed harder through the narrowing space. The upstream pool rose only a finger’s width.
