The Drop That Fixed the Tower-

English 원문
Two dented tin pots, a wooden sieve, and a metal ladle clanged together under the hanging hooks, each knock echoing along the planks of the mud kitchen. Finn wanted one solid mud tower for the drying shelf, yet the slurry bucket below the counter gurgled with more water than paste. The plan was clear: collect enough heavy paste from the bottom until the ladle scraped the plank like a short drumroll. He crouched, the spoon cutting through the thin surface with a wet slurp. One ladleful landed in the pot—thud, not splash—yet the mound barely rose above the rim. A narrow channel, like a steep ravine sliced by rain, formed where he had scooped, and watery liquid seeped back, swallowing the gap.
Josie stirred a separate mix nearby; her wooden spoon tapped the bowl in a steady rhythm. A squeak drifted overhead as Leander’s bunch of balloons bumped one another, cords humming against rubber. Finn leaned farther, knees creaking, and dragged a second load of thick paste upward. The pot rang under the new weight, but the tower still listed, a careful balancing act threatened by every wobble of the plank. When the balloons bobbed lower, one string brushed the hose nozzle; a sudden bead of water fell and struck the counter with what sounded like a tremendous impact, though only a drop. The surprise splash jolted Finn’s elbow; the ladle twisted, sending a third scoop tumbling onto the half-formed tower. The added mass slid down the sides, then settled, and in that instant the leaning shape straightened with a quiet suck of trapped air. Cracks around its base resembled jagged cliffs, yet the body stood.
A faint drip kept ticking from the hose, each bead rolling toward the plank’s edge and disappearing beneath the shelf, leaving dark spots that spread across the dry wood.
