Morning on the Swaying Walkway-

English 原文
Elias reached the wooden walkway just after sunrise. Mist drifted above the marshland, and pale strips of light pressed through it. He opened the legs of his lightweight tripod, the aluminum joints clicking while he scanned the reeds for movement. A distant chirp rose, thin yet bright, the usual harbinger of warm seasons in this reserve. If a goldfinch perched nearby, the first beams might catch its feathers like a living spark. Water between the grasses mirrored the sky; every ripple bent the reflection into ever-shifting triangles, as though a hidden prism kept rotating beneath the surface. Elias slid the camera into place and waited, boots planted on damp timber.
A soft groan pulsed under his feet. The narrow planks had swollen overnight, twisting against their rusted nails. Each step produced uneven torsion, tilting the tripod a fraction. He steadied it, but the marsh breeze pushed again, and a rubber foot slipped toward a gap. Elias crouched, lengthened one leg of the tripod, and wedged it against a knot in the wood. The adjustment settled the camera for a moment, yet the boardwalk answered with another complaint, louder this time. He shifted his weight back, fingers gripping a fraying rope rail while small droplets shook loose from the reeds and tapped his sleeves.
When the next gust eased, sunlight widened across the water. Something clear winked among tangled stems below—a shard no bigger than a coin. Its edges caught spectra, sending narrow stripes of green and violet onto the walkway. Elias knelt, reached between rails, and lifted the object: not a shard, but a tiny glass prism, edges smooth, hollow at the core. The discovery jolted him upright, and the plank beneath reacted; the sudden torsion tipped the tripod again. The camera tilted, shutter clicking by accident. At the same instant, a goldfinch fluttered down, settling on the rope only an arm’s length away, wings folded tight.
Elias froze, fingers curled around the prism. The bird turned, bright chest catching the low sun, and then hopped closer, the lens still rocking gently. Rainbow bands slid along its feathers where the glass bent the light. The marshland shared the quiet; even the breath of wind paused, reeds holding their lean. After several heartbeats the goldfinch lifted off, sweeping over the water toward a distant clump of willow. The tripod steadied, and Elias eased the prism into his pocket, boots remaining still on the plank. Sunlight rested on the still water around the quiet boards.
