Glider at Dusk-

English 原文
Orange light stretched across the rooftops while Mira steadied a cardboard glider the length of her arm. A dozen inked arrows covered the wings, proofs of her insatiable curiosity about airflows above the old apartment block. Lucas scribbled notes beside the chimney, recording their pioneering efforts with a pencil already worn flat. From the street below rose the mixed scent of baked bread and engine smoke; far off, a tram bell echoed. The sky appeared clear, yet warm currents flicked Mira’s hair sideways, hinting at restless layers of air that might lift or smother their creation. She traced the central spar once more, then nodded toward the open edge of the roof.
Wind rattled a loose sheet of metal, masking the soft hiss when the launch cord caught on a brick. Mira tugged; the knot refused, so her fingers dipped, loosened, and tried again. That brief friction tilted the glider, and a corner scraped gravel, leaving a thin white scar across the cardboard. Lucas slid a tin can under the nose to prop it level, and the body settled. An updraft brushed the dangling ribbons attached for visibility, letting them stand almost horizontal. Inspiration sparked in Lucas’s widened eyes; he pointed at the ribbons without a word, and both leaned closer to gauge the lift.
Mira lifted the glider, feeling the subtle gravity pull on its weight, then released. The craft dipped, caught a rising pocket of air, and began to ascend in a smooth spiral. Cheers rose from a nearby balcony, yet the moment broke when a pigeon burst from a ledge, clipped the left wing, and spun the glider off balance. Cardboard fluttered wildly; Lucas gasped as the nose dove. Another thermal rolled along the roofline, caught the battered wing, and flipped the craft upright. It glided onward, broader and higher than before, tracing an unpredictable path that drew silhouettes across the fading sky.
The flight carried the model over a mosaic of antennas and laundry lines until a final swirl of wind slowed its pace. Losing lift, it drifted toward a distant balcony where a sleeping cat twitched at the approaching shadow. The glider brushed the railing, tipped once, and settled against iron bars, ribbons still trembling from the journey. The pale glider rested against the quiet railing.
