English 原文
Orange ink stains had already darkened on the newspaper sheets covering the only free table when Hugo reached the craft corner, a robin hopping along the window ledge behind him. The air carried a thick, piney mix of linseed and damp wood, almost spicy too, and each breath tasted slightly nutty. Hugo’s goal was simple: press the veined marigold leaf he carried into the ink pad, lift it, and leave a souvenir before his group gathered at the corridor. A sign on the post marked six visitors, and he counted six elbows around the charming wooden surface. He waited, but the volunteer lifted a fresh timer and started another ten-minute round. Hugo edged closer, hoping someone might finish early, yet no chair scraped back. With time thinning, he adjusted; shoulders loose, he crouched near the sink, washed clay grit from his leaf, and stood ready at the first hint of movement.
When a seat opened, Hugo slid in, the robin fluttering to a nearby branch, curious about the bright inks. The pad before him smelled sharp, almost like crushed citrus peel; the pigment’s surface had begun to dry, forming a skin that broke in crumbs. His first press left only pale dots. A jar beside the rack glowed softly—inside, a single firefly drifted against glass, its light stroking the shadows. The pulse drew Hugo’s eye to the thicker corner of the pad where moisture remained. Changing angle, he tilted the leaf so that its stem pointed away, then leaned his weight forward, trading speed for a delicate balance of steady pressure. The marigold outline bloomed across the page, lines crossing in a unique pattern that curled like river tributaries. The timer rang; Hugo lifted the print onto the drying rack. A resin note from the drying print lingered in the air.
