Lamp Glare on the Honey Jar Changes the Pour -

English 原文
A tin-shaded lamp above the table buzzed and threw an oval glare onto the glass. Viola set a honeycomb frame on a towel, its caps pale and neat. Dark rings stained the wood table, and lighter patches marked places where wax once sat. A supply shelf held lids and cloths, and a carton of clean jars waited. Kit rubbed a charcoal smudge on his thumb, then pressed the jar’s cool side. An invitation on thick paper lay under a second jar, and its base sat even. Warm beeswax lifted a sweet smell, and the towel felt softly tacky under his wrist.
Viola drew a warm knife along the frame, and wax curls fell in soft strips. Honey slid out, thick and slow, and flowed in a ribbon toward the waiting jar. The lamp’s glare bounced on the glass, and the level inside looked bent and bright. A wax scrap arched like a small claw and stuck near the rim’s edge. Its tiny shadow drew a dark stripe that copied a fill line inside the jar. "It looks full from here," Kit said, tilting his head and squinting past the shine. Viola held the frame steady, and a thin thread kept falling through the bright ring. Kit slid the jar a hand’s width, and the stripe slid away with the angle. A clear gap showed below the true line, and the ribbon thickened a moment more. "Rainbow colors ran over that drop," he said, as a smear spread thin on the glass. The thread narrowed to a bead and paused on the rim. The lamp’s oval held steady on the quiet jar and the dulling bowl.
